This scenario based pain management simulation helps students learn about pain medication interactively. The student is responsible for a post-op cancer patient -- administering, adjusting, and monitoring his medication from the time he returns from his surgery to the time he is discharged from the hospital. The student is able to assess the patient, review physician's orders, administer medications, and offer patient teaching. During the simulation, students are able to consult with a supervising nurse or the pharmacy to get help. At the end of the simulation a printable report is provided that calculates a patient satisfaction score based on pain management, side-effect management, and patient teaching.
