IMAGE provides access to CSU collections of images for teaching and research. The collection currently available includes images for the art history survey, and historical images from a wide variety of fields, including political and cultural history, anthropology, biology, medicine and technology. Plans are to add image collections which concentrate on specific subject areas.

All CSU faculty, students, and staff are invited to use IMAGE. Images in these collections have been copyright cleared and are free for non-profit educational use, thus allowing faculty to fit them into their courses as they wish; for example for classroom projection, course web sites, and examinations
