The Center for Alternate Media
The Center for Alternate Media is a CSU system-wide database developed by and housed at the San Bernardino campus that allows all CSU campuses to share alternate media resources, such as electronic textbooks, for students with disabilities. Qualified students include those who are blind or visually impaired, physically unable to hold or open a book or students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia. The site for the Center for Alternate Media is secured, and can be accessed by authorized agents of all 23 CSU campuses with assigned passwords. Passwords are assigned to authorized agents by the Center for Alternate Media. A public site is currently in development and is expected to be available by the end of 2005. The public site will make resources related to alternate media available to all students, staff, faculty and other interested persons. Inquiries regarding the Center for Alternate Media may be directed to Davena Peters (Campus Liaison) at cam@csusb.edu or 909-537-5671.
